Jante Bakhro is a socially grounded comedy set in a rural Nepali village. It follows the story of Kamal, a hardworking and emotionally sensitive young man who chooses to stay in Nepal with his mother Ishwori, unlike most of the village youth who have migrated abroad. The story weaves humor, rural lifestyle, familial bonds, and the societal expectations around marriage in Nepal. At its heart, it is a lighthearted yet thoughtful satire touching on deeper themes such as the mother-son relationship, the rural-urban divide, and individual freedom within traditional frameworks.
